The IRWO, as an independent body, is positioned to help resolve and, if necessary, investigate any concerns or complaints raised about interactions in the Legislative Assembly which involve Participants of different Participant Groups.

How to Request Assistance from the IRWO

There are two ways to request assistance from the IRWO.

  1. Complaint Form: If you want to submit a concern or a complaint about an incident or an individual, download (Word), complete, and submit the Complaint Form (📄)

  2. Email: If you want to request assistance from the IRWO, such as seeking advice on the Respectful Workplace Policy, understanding the training on offer, or looking for more information on the resolution process, send your request to info@irwobc.ca

An IRWO team member will be in contact with you to follow up.

Confidentiality

Complaints and requests communicated to the IRWO are confidential. All concerns (whether they are through requests for assistance, informal resolution, or formal investigations) will be handled in strict confidence to the greatest extent possible without compromising the safety of personnel, the hampering of investigations, or the resolution of reported incidents. The IRWO will be responsible for receiving and storing all information related to specific Participant inquiries. No sensitive or confidential information will be shared with or stored at the Legislative Assembly.
