Advising

Clarifying, supporting, and directing questions about
the IRWO and the Respectful Workplace Policy

The IRWO is responsible for ensuring Participants of the Respectful Workplace Policy (MLAs, Caucus staff members, Political staff members, and Legislative Assembly employees (Administration)) understand their rights and responsibilities under the Policy, the services of the IRWO, and the mechanisms and procedures in place to investigate and resolve complaints to support a respectful workplace among Participants. Any Participant needing advice can contact the IRWO.

When requested, the IRWO provides advice to individuals who are not members of Participant Groups, such as Constituency Assistants and employees of the Public Service Agency, on the application of the Policy and the functions of the IRWO.

As a new Office with a fairly complex mandate, we expect to receive questions about subjects not covered by the IRWO’s mandate. We will endeavour to direct those asking to the appropriate venue when that occurs.

Contact the IRWO for details on how to submit a request for advice.
